DAY 29. POEM 29: CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA
Wheeling pianos out of
the conservatory
casual as (you please)
a lawyer brings home briefs.
Upright, spinet, a baby grand
every once in a blue moon:
a different one for every
different woman in my life.
The guard absentmindedly
nodding and smiling,
listening to a paranormal
call-in radio show,
reading a two-day
old newspaper.
When I'm really feeling
adventurous and blue
I keep a copy of "Moon River"
open on the lid.

Upright, spinet, a baby grand
