comparing shyamalan to senor wood is an insult to wood. the great exploitation autuer is spinning in his grave, wishing he had the big bucks producers are fisting over to shamalandingdong to lense his atrocities. give wood a couple of thousand bucks and you have an anti-classic. give shyamalan 200 million smoliens and you have a stinking turd.
I see your point, Richard, but having also - unfortunately - seen Lady in the Water, it is my belief that Shyamalan has inadvertently (not unlike Wood) created a film that will one day be recognized as one of the worst of all time.
Wood clearly deserves our adoration, Shyamalan deserves our scorn. But add a few years and some perspective to the mix, and let's see what happens.
