Ah, the French Canadians! Montréal diary: entry #8

Look: I've seen Super Size Me. I know that eating at McDonald's is the equivalent of jamming a loaded shotgun up my ass.

This knowledge, sadly, did not prevent me from stopping in during my Montréal sojourn and ordering a Saucisse McCrêpe avec ouef et fromage (a.k.a. Sausage McGriddle).

I neglected to notice if a Big Mac is called a Royale with Cheese up there (as we know it is in Paris, thanks to Pulp Fiction).

In the final analysis, though, I believe it's safe to say that "mercy" (regardless of the spelling) has nothing to do with McDonald's.

A TRAIN

You used to
Be able to see
Other subway trains
Better
All lit up
Throwing blue sparks
Hurtling through tunnels
Alongside the one
You were riding in
I remember hearing
If you saw yourself
On the other train
That meant you
Were dead

Ah, the French Canadians! Montréal diary: entry #7

For MsHellion, who taught me the word "fucktard."

I think, though, that "couche-tard" translates roughly into "night owl," hence the logo of the winking (or sleep-deprived) creature in question.

This establishment is basically the French Canadian equivalent of a 7-11. Open late and stocking all the essentials. Imagine my delight when I found Fresca, Cheetos, and other American foodstuffs to procure, rather than the exotic foreign fare I had to that point been ingesting (i.e. McDonald's, Subway, etc.).

Naturally, I bought a ton of junk and made myself sick almost immediately. Zut alors!
